Preparatory Arrangements

Service Overview

Good preparation is a key part of getting the best results from any pest control treatment. Before our technicians arrive, there are a few simple steps that help the treatment work faster, keep your family or staff safe, and protect your belongings. These preparatory arrangements apply to cockroach, termite, bed bug, rodent, spider, and mosquito treatments, though your technician will confirm any service-specific steps when your appointment is booked.
Once you contact us, our team will walk you through exactly what needs to be done before the visit based on the type of pest and the treatment method being used. In general, this includes clearing access to affected areas, storing away food and utensils, covering aquariums, keeping children and pets away from treated zones, and, in some cases, briefly vacating the property. We will always explain the reason behind each step so you know exactly what to expect.
Our goal is to make the preparation process as easy as possible while keeping every treatment safe and effective. If anything is unclear, our team is happy to answer questions before, during, and after your appointment.
Contact us to discuss your specific situation and we will confirm the right preparatory steps and a quote for your property.

Plan and Details

Clear Access to Treatment Areas
Move furniture, boxes, and stored items away from walls, skirting boards, and cupboards so our technician can reach every affected area easily.
Store Food, Utensils & Dishes
Cover or store exposed food, dishes, and cooking utensils, and clean kitchen surfaces before the appointment to keep everything safe and hygienic.
Protect Pets, Fish & Plants
Keep pets away from the treatment area during and after the visit, cover fish tanks, and move sensitive plants outside if advised by our technician.
Vacating the Property (If Required)
For some treatments, our technician may recommend that residents or staff leave the property for a short period, which we will confirm in advance.

Popular Question

Do I need to be home during the treatment?

It depends on the type of treatment. For most residential visits, someone over 18 should be present to give access and answer any questions, but our technician will let you know if the property needs to be vacated for a period.

We recommend completing preparatory steps, such as clearing access areas and storing food, on the same day as your appointment, ideally a few hours before our technician arrives.

Most treatments allow you to return shortly after the technician finishes, once surfaces have dried or ventilation is complete. Our technician will confirm the exact waiting time based on the treatment used.

Our technician can guide you through any last-minute preparation on-site where possible. Contact us before your appointment if you have questions so we can help you get ready in time.
